Loving something doesn’t prevent it from being ridiculous… and all the more lovable.
One thing that always bothered me is crime movies where the protagonists have no criminal background, and yet they are able to “live happily ever after” despite having committed the crime of the century. Quickest example that comes to mind is “True Romance.”
